Our diverse workforce and culture of belonging accelerate innovation to solve the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges.</h2><h2>The Director, Drug Substance (DS) network strategy is responsible for developing and maintaining portfolio and network level strategies, associated investment approvals, and ensuring timely decisions on portfolio and network needs for the biotherapeutic platform. This role is responsible for supporting product and portfolio network sourcing council reviews for products, portfolios, and network strategies. Support VCLS in product strategy roadmap definition. Key outcomes for this role are delivering a prescriptive unified network, cross-product strategies for portfolios, prioritization within network and portfolio, investment roadmap, and data-based portfolio and network decisions made on time.</h2><h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Responsible for biotherapeutic Drug Substance (DS) product portfolio and network strategy</li><li>Develop and maintain portfolio & network level strategy & associated investment approvals and ensuring timely decisions on portfolio and network level strategies for DS</li></ul><ul><li>Lead the development and deployment of network strategies across the end-to-end biotherapeutic DS supply chain to meet the needs of the current product portfolio as well as the emerging pipeline. This will include investments in new capacities and capabilities, rationalization of legacy assets and identification of leveraging/partnering opportunities to ensure an agile, resilient, and cost-effective network.</li><li>Create coherent strategy and prioritization across products with similar profiles (technology, process, and capabilities, etc.)</li><li>Create and communicate meaningful network guidance across the biotherapeutic drug substance platform in partnership with cross functional heads. This includes gaining leadership alignment and endorsement of core/non-core capabilities, network roadmaps, product portfolio and site missions.</li><li>Maintain strong connections to the upstream R&D (Discovery, Product Development and Supply) as well as the downstream Commercial organization to ensure solutions incorporate broad and diverse insights while ensuring end-to-end optimization.</li><li>Partner with Value Chain Management to generate siting options for new and existing products aligned to overarching network strategy.</li><li>Build and maintain external connections relevant to identifying marketplace and industry trends.</li></ul><ul><li>Drive analysis and decisions required from a planned or unplanned ‘trigger event’ (e.g., uptick in demand, capacity gap, etc.)</li><li>Trigger portfolio and network assessments where capacity and capability gaps exist</li></ul><h1>Qualifications</h1><h2>Education:</h2><ul><li>A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.</li><li>Master’s degree in the above subject areas or an MBA is preferred.</li><li>biotherapeutic drug substance experience preferred</li><li>A minimum of ten (10) years combined experience relevant to supply chain.</li></ul><h2>Experience and Skills:</h2><h2>Required:</h2><ul><li>Experience leading large, complex, and interdependent initiatives in a matrix environment.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to translate trends and insights into actional strategies that can be deployed in real-world applications</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the company and across our global supply chain.</li><li>Strong business acumen with solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes. </li><li>Proven experience in managing against a budget and making decisions that draw upon effective business and financial acumen, including making financial assessments of strategic options and providing recommendations.</li><li>Skills demonstrated in influencing across the matrix and negotiating in situations without positional authority.</li><li>Experience working within different cultures, as well as handling diverse and complex cultural and market-specific issues, such as labor laws, healthcare regulatory requirements, tax law and logistics</li><li>Detail and solution oriented with ability to work within broad guidelines and exercise considerable initiative, judgment, and decisiveness Commitment to advancing our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals, including in how we attract, develop, and retain talent.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience working across multiple business segments, functions and/or regions</li><li>Prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or logistics operations.</li></ul><h2>Other:</h2><ul><li>This position requires verbal and written proficiency in English</li><li>This position may require up to 20% domestic and international travel</li></ul>Required Skills: Preferred Skills:Alliance Formation, Budget Management, Business Alignment, Continuous Improvement, Design Thinking, Developing Others, Entrepreneurship, Facilitation, Inclusive Leadership, Innovation, Leadership, Market Research, Negotiation, Operations Management, Organizational Project Management, Process Improvements, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic Change, Tactical Planning The anticipated base pay range for this position is :$150,000.00 - $258,750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:For additional general information on Company benefits, please go to: - https://www.careers.jnj.com/employee-benefits
